Shelly turns its wall displays into Matter controllers for every brand

Shelly has announced a free Matter update for its Wall Display family. It turns these panels into both Matter controllers and Matter devices, letting you bring products from several brands together on a single screen, T3 reports.
One screen for every brand
In practice, a Shelly display can now control compatible products from different brands on the same screen, while remaining controllable itself from Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant. Shelly CEO Dimitar Dimitrov puts it this way: "Making the Wall Display a Matter controller and a Matter device at the same time means it can bring every brand in the house onto one screen."
Unveiled at IFA 2026
The update was revealed at IFA 2026, where Shelly also launched two new sensors. The brand, known for its affordable smart-home modules, continues its move toward Matter interoperability — a standard meant to simplify connected-home setup.
