Market: United States · Best Buy (sold and shipped by Best Buy) · USD. Checked on October 30, 2026: $599.99 instead of the $1,199.99 regular price, in stock. Shark's own site shows the same $599.99, but there it is a subscriber-only flash sale limited to one unit per customer, so Best Buy is the easier place to buy.

The short verdict

Buy it if you want a self-washing, self-emptying robot that also refills itself, and you mostly use the Shark app or Alexa/Google. Think twice if you need rock-solid Home Assistant control: the hardware is good value at this price, but the integration is the weak spot (more on that below).

Is $599.99 really a good price?

Here is the honest framing: this ties the all-time low, it does not beat it. The price history we could check looks like this:

  • Black Friday 2025: $699.99.
  • April 26, 2026: $599.99 at Amazon, the lowest price camelcamelcamel has on record.
  • Mid-May 2026: $599.99 again for a short time.
  • October 18–21, 2026: $749.99 at Best Buy and Walmart.
  • Today: $599.99 at Best Buy, which is 50% off the list price and $150 (20%) under what it cost ten days ago.

So the 50% headline is real, measured against a list price Shark actually charges. The more useful comparison is the $150 drop since last week. If you were waiting for Black Friday, this is already $100 under last year's Black Friday price.

The Home Assistant reality check

This is where we would rather be blunt than sell you a dream. Home Assistant's built-in Shark IQ integration is cloud-based, and in 2026 it has been unreliable with the newer PowerDetect models. The GitHub tracker has many open login and "bot verification" reports, and a pull request that would have added the newer Shark API was closed without being merged. The community workaround is shark2mqtt, which publishes the robot to MQTT and has a Home Assistant OS add-on. It works, but it is still a cloud bridge, and a Shark-side change can break it.

If you are new to add-ons and custom repositories, our Home Assistant 2026 guide (HACS, MCP, Link) covers the basics. If you mainly want voice control, Alexa and Google support works out of the box, and our piece on reusing old smart speakers with Home Assistant voice shows how to bring the two together.

How it compares

ModelPrice todayMop washingAuto refillHome Assistant
Shark ThermaCharged RV2920XE$599.99Hot water + heated dryYes (tank in the dock)Fragile (shark2mqtt)
Roborock Qrevo 2 ProX$689.99Hot water + heated dryYes (tank in the dock)Solid official integration

Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1$299.99No (manual pad)NoFragile

The Roborock costs $90 more and is the safer pick for a Home Assistant home. The Shark wins if you want the heated mop care and the bagless 60-day bin for less money.

Who it's for, and who should skip it

Good fit: households with mostly hard floors and a few rugs, pet owners who are tired of rinsing mop pads, and anyone who would rather tip a bin every two months than buy dust bags.

Skip it: if your smart home runs on Home Assistant automations (go Roborock), if you have deep shag carpet everywhere, or if the dock's 17.5-inch height won't fit under your counter overhang.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Matches the lowest price on record, $150 under last week
  • ✅ Hot-water mop wash and heated drying, which helps with smells
  • ✅ Bagless 60-day bin, so no consumable bags
  • ✅ Clean-water tank refills the robot by itself
  • ❌ Home Assistant support is unreliable right now
  • ❌ 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
  • ❌ Big dock, at nearly 27 lb in the box
