NAS maker Ugreen used IFA 2026 to launch HomeAgent, its smart home platform. The H100 Pro hub combines security-camera storage, on-device AI and smart home control in one system, managed by a voice assistant called Uliya — with everything running locally, no cloud required.
Everything runs locally
Unlike mainstream assistants, HomeAgent promises that recognition, storage and automation all execute on the device itself — a strong argument for privacy and responsiveness.
Built on Matter
The platform uses the Matter standard to bring in devices from different brands. In a hands-on demo, The Verge controlled Nanoleaf lights and smart blinds by voice through Uliya and the HomeAgent hub.
A heating-up segment
Ugreen joins other players — Anker launched a similar product, the Eufy MindBase, at the same IFA. The "local brain" niche for the smart home is growing, a sign of rising demand for solutions that don't depend on the big cloud vendors' servers.
