Universal Electronics and Eneco launch the TIDE Touch smart thermostat with humidity and proximity sensors

Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) and energy company Eneco (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany) announced on September 8 the launch of the TIDE Touch smart thermostat, alongside the TIDE Bridge.

Sensors that optimize energy

The TIDE Touch packs temperature, humidity and proximity sensors that adjust heating to optimize energy use and comfort. It joins UEI's TIDE family of thermostat designs, known for intuitive interfaces and energy-saving intelligence.

Refined through a year of field trials

The solution was tested over a year with households in the Netherlands, including pilot installations that helped refine features and the onboarding journey. It runs through the Eneco-branded Installation Assistant, powered by UEI's Nevo Assistant.

UEI emphasizes a "privacy-first" and "secure by design" approach to connected devices — a strong argument in the utilities smart-thermostat market.
