After yet another delay, the second-generation Roadster demo is set for Thursday, October 15, 2026. Here’s what’s official and what’s rumor, based on Electrek and Tesla News Wire.
Confirmed
- The date: Tesla posted it on X on September 28, moving the event from October 1 over weather: “this event can only be held outdoors… New date is October 15.”
- The area: invitations placed the event near Waco, Texas. Tesla hasn’t named a venue.
Not confirmed
- Start time: a 6 p.m. PT time is circulating but doesn’t appear in any Tesla post. The original October 1 invite said 8:30 p.m. ET.
- Livestream: Tesla hasn’t announced one. Check the @Tesla account on X on Thursday.
- Venue and hover demo: Electrek expects SpaceX’s McGregor test site and a remotely operated hover on cold-gas thrusters with nobody inside. Tesla hasn’t confirmed it.
- Price, specs, deliveries: the only official numbers are from 2017 (0–60 mph in 1.9 s, 250+ mph, ~620 miles, $200,000). Production is still guided for “2027 or 2028.”
