New official EPA estimates
Tesla has replaced its in-house estimates with official EPA figures on the configurator for the new Model Y L, the long-wheelbase version. According to Mark Kane (State of Charge), EPA combined range now reaches 332 miles with the default 19-inch wheels.
The detailed numbers
- 19-inch wheels: 332 miles (7 miles more than the initially stated 325 miles)
- 20-inch wheels: 328 miles (8 miles more than the 320 miles estimated)
- Difference between 19- and 20-inch wheels: just 4 miles
Slightly more range than the standard Model Y
With the same AWD powertrain, the long-wheelbase Model Y L posts marginally higher EPA range than the standard Model Y (327 miles).
