Tesla Rolls Out Automatic Collision Evasion with FSD 14.3.9

Tesla has begun rolling out software update 2026.27.6 to some owners, introducing Automatic Collision Evasion to Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14.3.9. The new safety layer can take over steering during manual driving when an imminent collision is detected and automatic emergency braking alone may not be enough.

A safety net beyond automatic braking

Unlike conventional AEB, which mainly brakes in a straight line, Automatic Collision Evasion can actively steer the car to avoid or mitigate an accident. Tesla AI says the system can also re-engage FSD if it detects heavy driver distraction or an accidental disengagement — addressing a real-world failure mode where a small steering nudge drops FSD at the worst moment.

Which cars are concerned

• Hardware 4 models: Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck.
• FSD v14.3.9 was dated September 6, 2026 in the release notes.

Why it matters

This is one of the most significant active-safety additions to FSD in months: the software can now intervene even when the driver is fully in control, a step beyond the supervised-assist model Tesla has shipped so far.
