Tesla's robotaxi program is scaling up in Austin, Texas. According to Teslarati (September 28), Tesla quietly doubled the size of its Cybercab fleet over the weekend, now passing "well over 100 units".

A fleet with no wheel and no pedals

The Cybercab is Tesla's fully autonomous vehicle, with no steering wheel and no pedals, built for two passengers. It is the heart of the robotaxi service the company operates in Austin.

Riders started receiving a notification from the Robotaxi app reading: "Cybercab fleet has doubled: more rides available."

A gradual rollout

The doubling comes as Tesla keeps expanding its autonomous ride-hailing offer in the Texas city. A larger fleet should cut wait times and strengthen day-to-day service reliability.
