Meta's Muse AI app overtakes ChatGPT as the top iPhone app

ChatGPT is no longer on top. Muse, the AI agent app Meta launched this month, has taken the top spot on the US App Store's free iPhone chart, displacing OpenAI's ChatGPT from first place.

A fast start

The app has only been around for a couple of weeks, but new installs are climbing beyond the day-one launch. Meta also expanded Muse to the Mac (a web download), though that version doesn't count toward the App Store ranking.

A different strategy

While OpenAI and Anthropic pushed agentic tools through their existing apps, Meta (like SpaceXAI) chose to launch a dedicated app. So far, that bet is paying off.
