Another lighting giant just signed the local-control pledge. On October 13, 2026, the Home Assistant blog announced LEDVANCE as a Works with Home Assistant partner with 116 certified devices — one of the larger single-brand dumps the program has seen.
What certified means here
- Every listed device uses Matter over Wi-Fi
- Pairs through Home Assistant’s Matter integration — no extra hub or Zigbee stick required for these SKUs
- In-house tested for local control and privacy; long-term support is written into the certification agreement
Matter remains the CSA open standard that keeps devices talking across ecosystems without locking your automations to a vendor cloud. HA’s pitch is blunt: if the cloud dies, the lights should not become e-waste.
What’s in the lineup
Filament-style bulbs, spotlights, recessed and track downlights, ceiling and wall fixtures, floor lamps, flexible LED strips for cabinets or TV bias lighting, IP-rated outdoor floodlights and garden spots, plus a SMART+ Plug and smart wall switches that keep the bulbs you already own. Most of the range is tunable white or full color, so the same SKU can do warm evening scenes and crisp morning brightness.
Brand context
LEDVANCE spun out of OSRAM’s general lighting business in 2016, keeps offices in 50+ countries, and still sells some products under the OSRAM brand via license. Product Manager Pulkit Dhanuka said the company wants SMART+ more accessible to users who value flexibility and local control while learning from the HA community.
Rocks take
116 SKUs is a serious Matter Wi-Fi catalog for HA households that already refused cloud-only bulbs. Still check the certified device list before you buy — “pairs somehow” and “Works with Home Assistant” remain different badges, and Wi-Fi Matter density on a busy 2.4 GHz band is a network design problem, not a magic fix.
