Honor Play20C: Rear Touchscreen on a ~$113 Budget Phone

Rear screens are no longer flagship-only. Honor has added the Play20C to its global website, a budget phone with a small touchscreen next to its camera. According to GSMArena, it is the global version of the Honor X5d s announced on October 6, 2026.

What the rear screen does

• Selfies with the main camera: tap the back screen to focus and shoot
• Call alerts and media playback controls without flipping the phone
• About 2 inches (GSMArena lists 2.01 inches, 240×296, on the X5d s)

Key specs (Honor)

• 6.78-inch 720×1576 display, 90Hz
• 6,000 mAh typical battery (5,850 mAh rated), Type-C 5V/3A charger
• Unisoc T615 on the 4GB+128GB version, Unisoc T610 on other versions
• 13MP autofocus rear camera and 5MP front camera on Honor’s page (GSMArena lists a 50MP main camera for the X5d s)
• 128GB storage expandable to 1TB via microSD, side fingerprint sensor
• 168.3 × 78.5 × 8.72 mm, about 214 g; Sunrise Gold, Forest Green and Midnight Black

Price and availability

GSMArena and Phandroid found it listed in Nigeria at NGN 149,900 (about $113) for 4GB/64GB. No US release has been mentioned. Phandroid also notes the Honor Play20A, announced in August, already had a rear screen.

Rocks take

It is a gimmick at this price, but a useful one: rear-camera selfies beat a 5MP front sensor. Charging at 15W for 6,000 mAh will be slow.
