Home Assistant 2026.9 adds a built-in Matter network topology map

The Home Assistant 2026.9 beta update introduces a built-in Matter network topology map directly into the main interface, reports Matter Alpha.

The goal: make Matter troubleshooting far more approachable. The map shows the network's structure (Thread border routers, nodes and connections), where users previously had to dig through technical logs.

Stronger diagnostic tools

The release also improves troubleshooting tools for serial hardware (Zigbee/Thread dongles) and adds security dashboards.

Good news for local smart home users, as Matter keeps expanding across bulbs, plugs, locks and thermostats.
