Home Assistant 2026.10 Beta: Matter Leak & Lock Controls

Home Assistant 2026.10 Beta: Matter Leak & Lock Controls

More Matter knobs inside Home Assistant—still labeled beta. Coverage dated October 2, 2026 on Charge Up Home (also mirrored by Appliances Labs) describes the 2026.10 beta; the official community “2026.10 Beta week” thread opened October 1.

Matter controls in the beta

Supported Matter leak sensors can expose separate switches for audible and visual alarms so changing the sound setting does not flip the light setting. Coverage cites IKEA KLIPPBOK and Shelly Flood as tested examples—not a guarantee for every firmware revision. Compatible Matter locks gain a one-touch keypad locking preference. Devices that report the right electrical data can surface frequency and power factor. WAGO Home Blind Control models 2757-1105 (Wi-Fi) and 2757-1106 (Thread) get upward/downward travel time and slat rotation time settings.

Nothing is universal: a control appears only when the Matter implementation exposes it. Do not invent a compatibility matrix beyond what sources name.

Map, automations, Matter hygiene

The Map dashboard adds a People / Devices / Zones overview beside the map (pull-up sheet on phones). “Triggered by” conditions can select triggers directly instead of forcing manual trigger IDs first. Coverage also lists Bluetooth commissioning cache improvements, a Google Assistant Matter-identifier cache fix, and safeguards for out-of-spec Matter values.

Rocks take

Medium strength: this is beta software. Stable 2026.10 is expected October 7, 2026; features can change or drop. Strong topical fit for Rocks’ Home Assistant house—wait for stable notes if you dislike churn. Distinct from Meross hub, Netatmo valves, SwitchBot bars, Govee projector and Ultraloq lock packs.
