Pixel 11: Gemini can now make calls on your behalf ('Call for Me')

Google is rolling out "Call for Me" on its Pixel 11 lineup: the Gemini assistant can now place a call on your behalf for routine tasks, reports TechCrunch.

Launched September 24, 2026 as an early preview, this Gemini Intelligence "early experiment" lets Google handle "routine phone calls" to book appointments, place items on hold, reschedule reservations, or check whether a product is in stock.

How it works

Gemini introduces itself, navigates automated phone menus, waits on hold, then handles the conversation with the person on the other end. You follow the call through a live transcript and can take over at any point. The call is placed from your own phone number.

A deliberately careful rollout

The preview is limited to Gemini subscribers in the US using the Phone by Google beta on the Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL and 11 Pro Fold. Google says it is "starting small to get the experience right."

The logical next step after Hold for Me

The feature builds on Hold for Me (which waits on hold for you) and Direct My Call (which shows automated menu options), already available on Pixel phones.
