Plug back in. On September 28, 2026, Bose unveiled its first wired earbuds since 2015: the simply named Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds.
What you get for $99
- QuietControl ANC with four mics (two per bud): Quiet, Aware, and ANC Off via inline remote
- USB-C only (4.2 ft cable)—draws power from the host; no internal battery, no Bluetooth
- Lossless path: USB Audio Class 2; accepts any sample/bit rate, outputs 24-bit / 48 kHz
- Calls: dedicated mic on the remote, designed for clothing-noise rejection
- Fit kit: S/M/L silicone tips + M/L stability wings; IPX4; zippered case
Colors and calendar
Black (blue accents), White Smoke (lime accents), limited Dewdrop Mint. My Bose exclusive preorder started Sep 28 at Bose.com and Best Buy; Bose press says shipping October 15 (The Verge noted some store pages showed Oct 13).
Why wired, why now
Bose president of Premium Consumer Audio Raza Haider called wired listening a “cultural renaissance” and said the company wanted to bring modern QuietControl and SoundDesign DSP to a category it left in 2015. Because ANC power comes from the USB-C host, there is no charge cycle—useful for flights, desks, and studios where Bluetooth latency or battery anxiety is the complaint.
Practical limits
Functionality is intentionally narrow versus Bose’s wireless flagships: no app EQ suite is required (or offered) for basic listening, and compatibility depends on the phone/laptop exposing USB audio correctly. The Verge separately noted store pages briefly disagreeing on Oct 13 vs Oct 15 ship dates—trust the press “October 15” line until order confirmations say otherwise.
Inline remote buttons handle volume, playback, calls, and ANC mode cycling. Soft silicone tips plus optional stability wings target desk and light workouts; IPX4 covers sweat and rain splash, not submersion. A zippered case ships in the box.

FAQ
3.5 mm jack? No—USB-C only.
Will ANC work on every USB-C phone? Needs a host that supplies power/audio over USB-C; verify device compatibility before buying.
