Beats is selling the headband as a costume change. On September 22, 2026, the Apple-owned brand announced Beats 360, its new flagship over-ear headphone, at $349.99 (U.S.), orderable same day from apple.com in the U.S. and more than 100 countries, with in-store shelves from September 24. The official Beats press note and GSMArena match on the core SKU.
What’s actually new
First Beats over-ears with interchangeable ear and headband cushions. Stock kits are Performance Knit (Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky on the headphones; extra Navy and Volt kits). UltraPlush engineered-leather kits come in Black and Cloud. Cushion kits list at $49.99, with a limited intro of $9.99 through October 31, 2026 in select markets (U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Australia, South Korea, China), limit three per customer. Beats 360 is also the first Beats over-ear with an IPX4 sweat/water rating (non-water sports; resistance can decline with wear).
- ANC: Beats claims up to 1.75× more combined active+passive cancellation than Studio Pro (IEC 60268-24 lab claim)
- Battery: up to 32 hours with ANC on or Adaptive EQ; Transparency mode 24 hours; 5-minute Fast Fuel ≈ 1 hour
- Chip: custom Beats silicon (not Apple H1/H2), Class 1 Bluetooth 5.3; electronics in both earcups
- Mics: nine MEMS (eight for ANC, three for voice, two shared)
Apple-side features listed: one-touch pairing, Hey Siri, Automatic Switching, Audio Sharing, Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking, Find My (iOS 27+). Android: Fast Pair, Find Hub, Audio Switch via the Beats app (Android 15+). GSMArena notes there is no wired audio, unlike Studio Pro and AirPods Max 2. Coinciding with launch, Studio Pro dropped to $299.99 on apple.com.
Materials, recycling, and fit architecture
Beats says moving to a wireless-first design freed headband space for comfort rather than cable routing, with a reimagined balanced-fit architecture for weight distribution and tension. Performance Knit uses memory foam wrapped in a breathable knit with diamond strands of 36 micro-threads; UltraPlush uses engineered leather also found on Studio Pro and Solo 4. Ear cushions are shaped for an over-ear seal. The fold-flat design ships with a woven ripstop fabric case. Environmental claims in the press note: 80% recycled plastic in multiple components (highest ever in a Beats product, per Beats), 100% recycled rare-earth elements in all magnets, packaging from 100% plant-based / recycled-fiber or sustainable-forest material (U.S. retail packaging by weight; adhesives/inks/coatings excluded). Call controls sit on the earcups: right for volume rocker and play/pause; left for power and listening mode. Core colors: Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky.
Rocks take
Dated, checkable hardware: price, store day, IPX4, swap kits. ANC multiples and “best sound in Beats history” are vendor lines until independent measurements. Source: Beats.
