Apple ‘Welcome Home’ Launch Set for October 13 in New York

Apple just put a date on its smart-home push. On October 8, 2026, marketing chief Greg Joswiak posted “Welcome home. October 13,” and Apple invited journalists to an Apple Experience in Tribeca, New York at 9:00 a.m. ET, reports MacRumors and The Verge.

What is confirmed

  • Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2026
  • Tagline: Welcome home
  • Media hands-on in Tribeca at 9 a.m. ET
  • No public livestream confirmed yet

What reporters expect (not confirmed by Apple)

  • A new smart home hub with roughly a 6-inch square display, wall-mount and speaker-base versions, camera and presence sensor, built around Siri AI — rumored around $350
  • A refreshed HomePod mini with new colours, an N1 networking chip and a faster S-series chip for Siri AI
  • A new Apple TV 4K with an A19 or A19 Pro, more RAM, the N1 chip and an upgraded Siri Remote
  • Possible LG-branded accessories (doorbell, lock, thermostat, cameras) co-developed with Apple — still unconfirmed by either company

Why now

The Verge notes that Siri AI finally shipped last month (with a beta tag), removing a reported blocker that had delayed Apple’s home hardware.

Rocks take

For Home Assistant households, the interesting question is Matter depth and local control — none of that is in the invite. Treat every product detail above as rumor until October 13.
