Apple releases the first iOS 27.2 public beta with the new Health app and Quest lab scheduling

Apple has released the first iOS 27.2 public beta for iPhone, days after the developer betas, reports 9to5Mac.

A redesigned Health app

The headline change is Apple's new Health app, which had been slated for later in the year. Apple has also turned on the ability to schedule and purchase Quest Diagnostics labs directly from the app.

An unusual version path

This cycle is unusual: Apple jumped straight to iOS 27.2 after the iOS 27 launch on September 14, skipping a public iOS 27.1 beta. That's because iOS 27.1 is reserved for the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable, expected on October 16.

Public beta testers can grab the update via Settings > General > Software Update.
