Why this one made the cut
Most "50% off" router deals are measured against a list price nobody pays. This one also beats the real street price. The Deco BE22 two-pack sat around €159 through the summer, climbed back to about €170 in mid-October, and its 30-day low was €155.99 (90-day average €159.76, according to KultureGeek). At €99.99 it is about 36% below that 30-day low. That makes it the cheapest it has been from a major retailer, and €40 cheaper than Boulanger's own Wi-Fi 6 Deco X55 kit. We ignored a couple of €51–55 one-off listings on price trackers because they look like errors.
Three questions to ask before you buy
1. Is your fiber faster than 1 Gbps? Each unit has two Ethernet ports, and both are 1 Gbps. On a 2 Gbps or 8 Gbps French fiber plan, wired devices top out at about 940 Mbps. Wi-Fi alone can go a little higher with MLO-capable clients.
2. Do you need 6 GHz? The BE22 is dual-band Wi-Fi 7 (2.4 + 5 GHz). You get the Wi-Fi 7 extras, 4K-QAM, MLO and 160 MHz channels, but not the uncrowded 6 GHz band. In a dense apartment block that matters. In a house it often doesn't.
3. How big is the space? Two units comfortably cover a typical two-floor French house or a large apartment. If you need more coverage, you can add any other Deco later.

For the smart home
The feature that matters most for us is the separate IoT network. Put cheap Wi-Fi plugs, bulbs and cameras there and isolate them from your laptops. Onboarding for Tapo and Kasa devices is built in. There is no official Deco integration in Home Assistant, but the HACS custom integration ha-tplink-deco exposes connected clients as device trackers, which works well for presence automations. If you are planning Wi-Fi cameras, read our Matter cameras buyer's guide first. Remember that Wi-Fi mesh doesn't replace a Zigbee/Thread radio: our Echo Dot 2026 hub guide and the Zigbee vs Matter/Thread study cover that side.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy: anyone in France whose ISP box leaves dead zones upstairs or in the garden, especially smart-home users with dozens of 2.4 GHz gadgets. Skip: multi-gig fiber users, people who need 2.5 GbE for a NAS, and anyone in a crowded building who would benefit from 6 GHz. Those buyers should look at the BE65.
