Tesla brings FSD v14.2 Lite to Hardware 3 for the first time and adds collision evasion

Tesla is extending Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to older vehicles. Software version 2026.27.6, flagged by tracker Teslascope on September 8, delivers FSD v14.2 Lite to Hardware 3 cars for the first time, while AI4 models receive FSD v14.3.9.

FSD v14.2 Lite: Hardware 3 finally served

It's a first: the 14.2 branch reaches Hardware 3 in a lighter "Lite" form, optimized for its compute budget, in eligible regions.

Automatic Collision Evasion

Version v14.3.9 adds a new active-safety layer. Per Tesla AI, the system can take over from the driver when an imminent collision is detected and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) may not be enough — for example under heavy distraction or an accidental FSD disengagement.

• unlike conventional AEB (braking in a straight line), it combines steering, braking and acceleration;
• it can change lanes or move toward the shoulder when a safer path exists;
• it keeps driving once the immediate threat passes, rather than stopping outright.

Note: specialized outlets reported Tesla pulled v14.3.9 from some cars minutes into the rollout, with no reason confirmed so far.
