Google has published its monthly "Google System Release Notes" for September 2026. They detail what's new in Play services, the Play Store and the Play system update, across Android phones/tablets, Wear OS, Google/Android TV, Auto and PC.
What makes up the "Google System"
The "Google System" is the set of first-party apps that power the Android ecosystem: Android AICore, Adaptive Connectivity Services, Android System Intelligence, Android System SafetyCore, Android System WebView, Device Health Services, Google Play Protect, Google Play services, the Play Store, SIM Manager, system parental controls, and more.
A gradual rollout
9to5Google notes that a feature appearing in the changelog doesn't mean it's widely available — some capabilities take months to fully launch. In this wave, Android System Intelligence moves to version B.29 / C.7 (September 3, 2026) with bug fixes and maintenance changes.
