Aqara Debuts Five Matter Smart Lights With Apple Home Support

Aqara used IFA week to expand lighting that actually talks to Apple Home. On September 4, 2026, the company introduced five Matter-enabled smart lights that also support Thread and Zigbee—and pair with Aqara’s own sensors and switches. Pricing is still TBA, but the SKU mix covers the rooms people actually automate.

The five Matter lights

The lineup spans indoor color scenes and year-round outdoor runs. Floor Lamp T1 is a tall rod wall-wash with 18 controllable color zones, white from 2000K–9000K, and up to 1,000 lumens—enough for living-room ambience without needing a separate wall washer. LED Downlight T2 keeps a thin profile with 16 million colors and the same wide white range for recessed installs. LED Strip T2 packs 108 LEDs per meter, with 18 zones every three meters for segmented color control along cabinets or cove lighting.

Outside, Outdoor String Lights H1 are weatherproof for patios and temporary runs, while Permanent Outdoor Lights H1 target year-round installs with cuttable, extendable LEDs. That split matters: temporary party strings and permanent eave lighting are different jobs, and Aqara is naming both instead of forcing one SKU to fake the other.

Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Apple Home

All five are Matter-enabled and compatible with Apple Home, while also supporting Thread and Zigbee. That cross-protocol stack is the real news for mixed homes—HomePods on Thread, older Aqara Zigbee sensors still doing occupancy duty, and Matter as the common language. MacRumors notes the lights are pairable with Aqara sensors and switches, which helps if you already live in that ecosystem for door contacts and motion.
